The project
The project concerns the adaptation and expansion works of the building located in Via Pitagora in Martina Franca for the allocation of district and territorial services. The new health facility will be built in via Pitagora n. 16, behind the hospital, in an area owned by the Local Health Authority, previously occupied by the “Ex Dispersario Tubercolare” building.
The need to create a new structure intended to host district services aimed at providing citizens with a new and unique unit committed and organized to take charge of the demand for health and care, and to guarantee better levels of social and health care.
The need to create a new structure intended to host district services aimed at providing citizens with a new and unique unit committed and organized to take charge of the demand for health and care, and to guarantee better levels of social and health care.
The project therefore consists of demolishing the existing 2-storey building on the site and constructing a new building for the allocation of district and territorial services.
The new building, with modern architecture, consists of a ground floor pilotis and 5 above ground levels, each with a gross usable area of 378 square meters, which would allow a total gross usable area for district services of approximately 1890 m2. The usable interior floor area, without walls and bulkheads, is approximately 250 m2, for a total of 1,250 m2.
The new building consists of a reinforced concrete structure with massive reinforced concrete columns, beams and slabs, with a regular floor plan on different levels, with maximum dimensions of 26.70×13.70 m and a total height above ground of approximately 21.70 m. The height between levels is 3.25 m for the upper floors and 4.75 m for the basement/pilotis ground floor.
The external covering consists of 35 cm thick honeycomb bio-compatible brick block infill, plastered on both sides, and ventilated insulation of light beige fiber cement board on a metal supporting substructure, with a layer of mineral wool sandwiched between them, for a total thickness of 15 cm, except for the basement/pilotis ground floor, where a layered insulation system is provided for the infill on the blockwork between the heated environment and the external environment.
The interiors are mainly for the CUP (One-Stop Appointment Center) offices on the ground floor with dedicated toilets, support rooms and a waiting area, while the upper floors are used for outpatient services with waiting areas, offices and support rooms for staff, as well as toilets for visitors and staff, storage and technical rooms.
The interiors are finished with bulkheads mainly of plasterboard, except for the functional spaces, staircases and REI technical spaces, where 20 cm thick concrete block walls are provided; the floors are mainly porcelain stoneware, except for the internal staircase, where stone floors are planned; false ceilings will be with a suspended structure of 60 x 60 cm mineral fiber panels for corridors, ambulatories, offices and waiting areas, while for toilets there will be waterproof ceilings.
The reinforced concrete structure is currently under construction.
