URBAN RESTRUCTURING WORKS OF THE FORMER HOUSING AREA WITH CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW ERPS BLOCK (SOCIAL HOUSING) WITH THREE LEVELS WITH 18 HOUSES IN RIVALTA DI TORINO (TO).

The project

The area to be intervened is located in the town of Rivalta di Torino, within the territorial area constituted by the areas of the former artillery depots known as “Casermette” on Via Carignano street, to the south of the town, adjacent to the former Fiat Rivalta industrial complex.

The fundamental objective of the project was to reduce the consumption of energy and non-renewable material resources and to increase the use of natural resources for environmentally sustainable development.

The project involved the construction of a building with a rectangular configuration on 3 floors above ground, containing 18 dwellings of different types.

In the basement there are the cellars, the technical rooms and the heating plant, the latter having independent access from the outside via a staircase.

The vertical distribution system consists of two stairwells and the associated lifts. On each floor there are 6 residential units (3 per staircase).

Each living unit has balconies on the south side, corresponding to the living room/kitchen, to benefit from natural light exposure, while bedrooms are preferably located on the north side. On the other hand, the apartments on the ground floor of the same side are provided with useful, paved spaces to allow wheelchair maneuvring.

To the south of the building there is a flat parking lot and an ecological area accessible from within the grounds and from the public road.

A perimeter strip with a green area develops around the building to create a natural filter.
