RESTORATION OF THE “GERVASUTTA” INSTITUTE FOR PHYSICAL MEDICINE AND REHABILITATION

The project

Since 1996, the Gervasutta Hospital has been home to the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (IMFR) and, like all Hospital Presidiaries, its structure must be continuously adapted to align with changes in therapeutic systems, technological developments and the ever increasing expectations of the Community.

The adaptation phase covered by this Executive Project is called “Second Intervention”, as an important phase of renewal – “First Intervention” – ended with the realization of the New Degenze Pavilion and annexed protected sanitary access, while the complete renovation will take place with the realization of the “Third Intervention” which at the present time has been developed at the level of Preliminary Project.

All the works provided for in this “Second Intervention” as well as those to come relating to the “Third Intervention” are integrated and relate to a well-established and efficient health institution whose functions must not be interrupted, which represents, among all, the greatest criticality faced in the project and to be taken into account also in the implementation phase.

The area covered by the work, as mentioned above, is in fact currently destined for a garden and is affected by the presence of a connecting path on two levels that will have to be eliminated as not compatible with the new project.

The new building is spread over four levels, all for health and outpatient activities, plus a fifth level at the top where the main technological facilities will be located.

In addition, the choice of improvements was oriented towards the use of materials and / or artifacts consisting of a minimum content of post-consumer material, resulting from the recovery of waste and materials resulting from the disassembly of complex products and possession of the CE marking.
